I sent a press release to The Cambridge News announcing the launch of the Camrock Diaries today. I really hope they print a little blurb so we can get more people interested...
In reading the paper, I found the following things interesting to me:
The Lee Dreyfus Column:
I'm old enough to remember the signature red vest of Lee Dreyfus. I'm old enough to remember my parents talking about him. I'm not old enough to remember exactly what policies and programs were enacted by Lee Dreyfus. But now he has what I assume is a syndicated column that has picked up by The Cambridge News--and given a fair amount of space.
This weeks column left me scratching my head. For those of you who didn't read it, it was about the back story of Lee meeting the Pope in Washington DC. It was a long story about Lee's interest in the Polish community in Steven's Point, and his effort to bring polish intellectuals and artists to Wisconsin. Mildly interesting. But I was unable to see why this was given such space in our community paper. How did it impact our community? Does anyone care about an ex-governer and his stories about being in office back in the 70s? Is this at all relevant? Was Lee from Cambridge and I just don't know?

That photo is classic. David. Love the beard. You rock. Congratulations.
